Grimdark Painting

Shipped off Tim's Sallies today. Hope he likes them! The shots of them are up in the gallery, but I didn't get in a group shot. There was 40+ Marines in total! With those done and the Blood Angels underway, I should soon be free of Space Marines for the first time in 8 months! As much as I love the Emperor's chosen, I am dying to get the Squiggoth finished and Gargantuan Squiggoth underway.

All right folks, I am swamped. The Blood Angels are underway starting today (8/2) and should be done pretty quickly. The Salamanders are a bit more than I bargained for with a lot of delicate blending to get the squad markings looking right. That has set me back a few days. Otherwise, they should be in the mail on Tuesday at the latest. Sorry for the delay, Tim, I swear I just want them all to look as good as possible for you!

On to the Squiggoth front - I am slowly making progress. To prove this, here are some shots of it under way. Going to weather up the armor, fix up some of the metal bits, paint up the face and other details, then toss in some powders and call it a day. That should eat up the next few weeks, though I hope for less. The shop owner should be pleased, as I think it is coming along rather nicely.

So, here are some work-in-progress shots of the Land Raider. Working on the metal portions right now, going to make the siler on the front gold, as well as get to work on dirtying it up a bit. Just a little bit left, really. My only displeasure has been the sponson weapons, which the Chapterhouse Studios pieces didn't fit onto properly, so I am going to paint them and ship them as is. I would rather that than chance them breaking (I think they are Lascannon-mount specific!). 


Anyhow, I just got a Blood Angels army inquiry from a fellow Dakka Dakka member. Lets hope that it moves forwards from here. Also, I should be tackling some more Orks in the near future for a local buddy of mine, though I am not sure I will be seeing the Squiggoths anytime soon, sadly.

Here we go! Finally got some pictures. I am making slow, steady progress on this commission. Lots of work left, but I should get it done on deadline.
