So, just some things I have wrapped up in the last few days. The Warhound is finished and ready to be delivered to the owner. The Wolf Lord was an older project I finally finished and the new Grey Knights have their bases ready.

So, just a few updates. I am rounding out the Tactical Squads still - they are mostly done. Just black/metal/gold on most, with some eyes to do. Then, I go in and put on decals followed by weathering. Not too bad. The Titan got a coat of grime today and will soon have the remainder of its gold trim finished. The inside is grimed and I have started some detailing. Going to dust up the legs and it should be done soon. My original projection fell short due to the holidays - but it should be done this week.
So, the stripes on the back turned out pretty great, I think. Going to throw more white onto the knee-guards and then start the gold, interior, and weapons.
So, here are some shots of the Titan as of yesterday. Currently, it is being airbrushed with Boltgun Metal in several areas, as per the Legio Crucius images from IA10. Going to lay in the solid black and black/white stripe areas tomorrow and Thursday, as well as put down the first coats needed to do gold edging.
Now that the magnet fiasco is finished, I can finally get to painting! Aside from decals, these are finished off Rhino APCs for the Ultramarines commission. Going to try to get the Rhino-chassis vehicles done, then the Land Raider, then the Speeders. Then, I move onto the infantry and then finally, characters. Shouldn't be long! On a positive side note - I am go for painting the Warhound Titan! Legio Crucius will have a new addition in the near future! So, the Mars-Pattern Warhound Titan is really taking shape - in that its almost done! The final trial will be setting the arms with magnets. The issue I see is that the connection cables will really make this difficult. Might try to find a way to use a thick, flexible metal tube with a magnet on the end to allow it to be flexible, versus the resin tubes. Anyhow, that will be wrapped up next week - hopefully! On the Ultramarines front, the army is taking shape rather quickly now that its on the table. Vehicles are first up - going to knock them out this week coming. The Forge World decals really will give them some awesome life! Hopefully, when these get a little further along and I have a bit more room to work, I will have the Dark Eldar and Blood Angels on the table soon. Right now, they are in the early stages of assembly and cleaning. Also, I am going to have some personal projects lined up - namely some Warmachine / Hordes models for a local league. Still debating on just what though, but I have until next month to figure it out. Steadily getting it done! Lots left, but I think its looking pretty good! Need to drill a hole for the acrylic rod that will be in the stomach of this beast to hold him up. The arms, legs and tail are all magnetized (thanks Alex!). The next step is to stripe the carapace with green and (in the right direction this time!) and do up the jungle base for it. On the Ultramarines front - I did up a Sternguard Squad with Combi-Meltas and a few Tactical Squads. The Terminators are done. Tomorrow I get going on all the Rhino-chassis vehicles. When everything is done, I will get them primed and painted in jig time with my handy-dandy airbrush. If I hadn't said so yet, I am madly in love with my Iwata HP-CS. The Tomb Kings are still coming along. I admit a massive underestimate of detail on those things. A lot more intricate than expected, but I am not too far behind on them. Should have some shots of the Warsphinx up this week and maybe the Skeletons too. The move is complete and my new workstation is up and running. Getting back into the full swing of things hasn't been easy, but things are moving steadily now.
Tomb Kings are about to be based and primed, then painting begins. Tyranid Bio-Titan needs an acrylic rod mount, need basing, and then priming and painting. Shouldn't be too long on that and when its underway, I will be touching up the Harridan (which has been fixed) and its base as well as fixing the Hive Guard and Termagant. The Mars-Pattern Warhound Titan is in bags and requires a few purchases before I get going. Mostly, I just need about 20+ small magnets and a pair of ball-joint magnets, etc. Should be a challenge to assembly it, judging by the dozen or so bags it comes in. The Ultramarines are going to be started up this week, which is later than I wanted. Still waiting on Forge World to get back in stock its Mortis Autocannon arms. Hopefully, I will be placing the order this week, though and they can mail the arms when they get them in stock. Nothing in the order is too vital that I can't start them, but I would have been happier having the stuff. And here are some shots of what I have done thus far: |
